Philips appears in two families here: air purifiers and humidifiers.
A CADR figure with a wide room rating behind it. The 900 Series states 250 m³/h CADR and coverage up to 65 m² — the largest stated room rating of the purifiers we compared — at a stated 20.5 dB.
A named, checkable certification. Philips states the 900 Series carries ECARF certification, a real independent allergy-friendly product mark rather than an invented marketing badge — one of the few third-party-style claims we found on any purifier in this family.
Evaporative technology explained, not just named. The HU2716/10 humidifier draws air through a moistened wick — Philips’ NanoCloud process — rather than vibrating water into mist, and the brand explains directly why that avoids the mineral dust ultrasonic humidifiers can leave with hard water.
The trade-off Philips doesn’t hide. The HU2716/10’s 2 L tank is the smallest of the humidifiers we reviewed, and its 15-hour runtime is the shortest — a real cost of the evaporative technology, not a spec Philips glosses over.

Philips rates the 900 Series at a 250 m³/h CADR for rooms up to 65 m², with a 3-layer HEPA filter the brand states removes 99.97% of particles down to 0.003 micron and carries ECARF certification. Sleep mode is published at 20.5 dB and the filter is rated for up to a year.
Best for: A larger living room or open-plan space where the 65 m² manufacturer rating and long filter life offset the higher entry price.
